A Little About Me

Violist and violinist based in the UK. Henrietta enjoys a varied career, with a special interest in Chamber Music, Contemporary Music and curating cross-arts events.

Henrietta works for numerous Arts organisations, as a performer, freelancer and educator. She is a Trustee of Arts Charity ‘NW Live Arts’ who look at bringing Classical and World Music to local communities. Henrietta loves curating concerts and has teamed up with The Green Man Gallery, Buxton to create their Music + Art series. Chamber music and art concerts in Derbyshire’s most beautiful acoustic!

Henrietta is also a member of the Belinfante Quartet, an exciting string quartet named after Dutch cellist and activist Frieda Belinfante, who you can find mostly touring Europe with their exciting projects - have a look at their latest CD ‘Parallel 40’, released in February 2024.

In 2018 as part of the Rest Ensemble, Henrietta launched a CD of Robin Holloway’s chamber music and Solo Viola Sonata for Robin’s 75th Birthday celebrations. Henrietta was delighted to perform Robin’s Clarinet Trio at his recent 80th Birthday Celebrations in London. Henrietta has premiered works by composers Rhiannon Randle, Alice Beckwith, Charlotte Bray, David Lancaster, Tom Armstrong, Giles Swayne and John Hawkins - to name a few and regularly commissions works with her chamber ensembles.

When not with her chamber groups, Henrietta enjoys freelancing around the UK and Europe in festivals, chamber ensembles and orchestras, including Northern Sinfonia and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

As an educator, Henrietta is a viola tutor at the University of Sheffield, tutor and chamber music coach at the Sheffield Music Academy. She loves to and bring her chamber music knowledge to coach for organisations and summer schools such as Pro Corda, MusicWorks Cambridge Summer Young Musicians (CSYM) Summer Course and Arpeggione Viola Courses. Henri especially loves leading improvisation workshops for all ages and abilities. Henrietta works with Rosie Bowker, flautist for ‘Live Music Now’ bringing chamber music to SEND schools, Hospitals and Care Homes where the community can’t normally access high quality live music.

Henrietta believes in open, exciting programming for live music events and listens to the audience for their musical wishes. Whether a concert, workshop or tailor-made interactive performance, Henrietta believes in high quality Live Music experiences.
